Finally, it was designed to teach social interactions in different settings. The people pay attention and become open to the ideas that would otherwise been ignored in normal settings. Public speaking provides the speakerwith a new persona that captures the attention of the audience, and they become followers who want to connect with the presentationà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s content and the speaker beyond the speech. Therefore, the can persuade individuals to rake certain actions, it can pertinent provide information to the audience, it can entertain the audience, and develop skills on critical thinking. In addition, public speaking it fine tunes the verbal and non-verbal skills and other skills for public speaking. For instance, the speech by Saif Ali-Ibrahim was informative as it provided the various arguments that exist in sports business on whether college athletes should be paid or not. Q.4In the oral communications class, there were different concepts that were introduced and taught in the class. However, the concept of communication and culture was most significant in regards to application to my friends. While communicating to my friends from different cultures, I would consider the elements of communication that is verbal or non-verbal such as facial expressions and gestures to ensure that I communicate the correct message. In addition, I will take into consideration my posture while talking to such friends as different cultures have different interpretations of the verbal and non-verbal communications.Q.5Another concept within the oral communications class the concept of barriers to communication was also present. I have learned that the way we communicate varies depending on the audience and the environment and that the content being communicated should be suited to fit the specific audience. However, the audience may also impact the speaker. The audience may evoke certain behavior that may positively or negatively influence the not only the speakerà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s behavior, but also the perception held about the speaker. For instance, the audienceà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s behavior may make the speaker nervous bring down the confidence levels of the speaker. Moreover, the audience may make the speaker reduce the depth of delivery of the message by eliminating some key points within the information being communicated. Finally, the audience may also make the speaker change the approach to presentation or the topic being presented.
